In late February 1942, 1,000 Jews, who had been deported from Odessa to the farmsteads of Grigoro Gaduchee, Novo Grigoryevka, Novo Petrovka, and Pervenets, were murdered by members of an ethnic German militia, Romanian gendarmes, and local policemen in pits and wells near the Petrovka farmstead
