Sometime about February 25, 1942, 1,000-1,500 Jews, who had been deported from Odessa to the villages of Podolyanka, Sukhaya Balka, and Stepanovka, were murdered by Romanian gendarmes and members of an ethnic German militia at a well near the Mostovoye Railroad Crossing.
