Akmechetka, a village in Domanevka County 165 kilometers from Odessa, was one of the main places of concentration of Jews deported from Odessa and other places in Transnistria. According to testimonies, a unit of Kalmyk collaborators that was passing by carried out a mass murder there. All the Jewish men in the Akmechetka camp were separated from the women and children and murdered. Neither the exact date nor the number of victims of this massacre is known.
