During 1942 a group of Hungarian Jews was taken to Korosten County by Hungarian army units. The Jews were held in the vicinity of the villages of Doroshiche and Kupishche. On April 29-30, 1943 (according to some testimonies, in the summer of 1942), the surviving Hungarian Jews were forced into a stable located between the villages of Kupishche and Doroshichi. Then the stable, which was surrounded by Hungarian solders, was set on fire. Those victims who tried to jump out of the stable windows were shot on the spot. Local residents were not allowed to approach the site. During this murder operation between 300 and 800 Hungarian Jews were either burned alive or shot to death.

Written Testimonies
From the testimony of P. Iskorostenskiy, who was born in Kupishche in 1929 and lived in the area during the war years:
…I was then thirteen and remember all these events rather well. In 1942 Hungarian Jews were held near the village of Kupishche of Korosten County. …In the summer of 1942 the Jews were taken to a [local] kolkhoz stable. There they were forced to build plank beds and pushed inside so tightly that it was impossible to count them. During the night the stable was set on fire. Those who jumped out to escape the fire were shot. Locals were not allowed to come close. The stable was surrounded by Hungarian soldiers and officers. In the morning, when the locals came to the site where the people's bodies were still burning the Nazis [sic] said that "800 'Juden' had been burned." I remember this place very well and I can show it [to you].
