According to the testimony of Holocaust survivor Fryderyk Nadler, one day, apparently in 1942, the Germans carried out the so-called “meat murder operation” in the Stanisławów Ghetto: The owners of the food stores in the ghetto, which had been permitted to open a short time beforehand, were arrested, taken to the Security Police headquarters, tortured to disclose the identities of their customers, and then shot dead – apparently, on the spot.
