According to the testimony of the survivor Władysław Gostynski, in May 1943 one of the senior officers of the Security Police station in Tarnopol personally shot about 60 inmates of the Jewish labor camp inside the camp itself. According to the testimony of another survivor, Pinchas Sheyman, in July or August 1943, during the liquidation of the Jewish labor camp, a group of senior officers from the Tarnopol Security Police station shot to death many Jews who had been collected at the camp's square to be taken to a murder site.

…In regard to the liquidation of the camp in Tarnopol, from my hiding place I saw Mueller, Hermann, Leks, and Reinisch (officials of the Security Police office in Tarnopol) arriving at the camp accompanied by other men in uniform, and shooting at all the Jews, the approximately 2,000 people assembled on the square. I saw the above-mentioned Gestapo men shooting continuously into the crowd. The shooting lasted the entire day. The next day the bodies were taken away, I do not know where…

…Hermann served as a Gestapo officer in Tarnopol… In May 1943 he was rowing with his wife along the Seret River which bordered the ghetto. After Hermann reached the riverbank, he entered the [Jewish labor] camp and claimed that during his [boat] ride he had been shot at from the ghetto. Because of this he shot dead 60 Jews on the spot…
