According to some sources, a number of Jews were shot and thrown into the mines in the Sergo area. Among the vicitms were the Jews from Sergo as well as from other nearby places. The Soviet reports do not mention the exact day of the murder operations.

Raisa Kopel'nik born in Shpola in 1930 and lived in Almaznaya during the war years, testified:
There were mines there [in Sergo] and [he Jews] were shot there and thrown into the mines.
