According to the testimony of Holocaust survivor Leah Golod Froindlich, already in 1942 one of more groups of Jews from Złoczów were murdered at the local Jewish cemetery, on the southeastern outskirts of the town. After the liquidation of the Złoczów Ghetto in early April 1943, Jews who had gone into hiding, but were discovered, would be taken, singly or in groups, to the Jewish cemetery to be shot.

Leah Golod Froindlich, who was born in 1937 in Zloczow and lived there during the war years, testifies:
…During the first murder operation, my father was in Złoczów…. He did not know that there was going to be a murder operation. Everyone was already in the ghetto. They occupied three streets and closed them down in such a way…. He [my father] went to see my uncle, and also his business. My father was dressed like a goy [non-Jew], and he saw that it was not good, as the saying goes. He went to the Jewish cemetery and hid among the tombstones. He spent the whole day at the cemetery…, and then he saw the Jews being brought to the cemetery and murdered. One Jew had his face pulled out, together with his beard. He saw terrible things. And he hid at the cemetery all day long. He did not budge from there. At night, he slowly left the area…. It was in 1942....
