Murder story of Młynów Jews in the Młynów Ghetto

Apparently on October 8, 1942 520 Jews who had been caught in hiding and then taken to the ghetto, probably together with Jewish specialists who had remained alive, were shot to death on the territory of the ghetto. Before being killed, the victims were beaten. Ukrainian auxiliary police, headed by Dimitrii Novosad, participated in this murder operation.

At the location of the camp, the so called "ghetto," in the town of Młynów, during an exhumation 5 pits were also found, with a total number of 520 victims who had been brutally killed by the [Ukrainian auxiliary] police and the chief of police [Dimitrii] Novosad in October 1942. The annihilation of the civilians … of the Młynów Region area was carried out by mass shooting from machine-guns and single shots in the back of the head, [while the victims] were lying down; in several cases people were thrown into the [mass] graves and covered while they were still alive. 2. In many cases during the examination of the bodies in the pits located in the town of Młynów on the territory of the former camp [i.e. ghetto] traces were found of external abuse indicating the beating [of the victims] shortly before they were killed. 3. The testimonies of residents of the town of Młynów who were eyewitnesses of this mass annihilation between 1941 and 1944 of civilians of the Młynów Region … have been fully confirmed by information from the medical examination.…

Thus, in the town of Młynów 520 [Jews] who had been shot to death were buried in five pits located on the territory of the 'ghetto."… [Thus] my sister Fanya Scwarz – 32 years old, was brutally murdered by the chief of the Młynów [Ukrainian auxiliary] police [Dimitrii] Novosad.
