On September 23-25, 1941, some of the Jews who had been collected in Pioneer club were shot by Gestapo-men in a deep well located about one kilometer northwest of Golovanevsk. The victims, according to some sources, mostly young children, were thrown alive into the well. When it was full, the rest of the victims they were shot to death from sub-machineguns and their bodies covered with earth.

The shooting site had been prepared ahead of time, 1-1.5 kilometers northwest of Golovanevsk village, 25 meters west of the first one [the Volovik Ravine ]. It was a 15-meter deep well into which the people were thrown while still alive. When it was full, the [remaining] people were shot with sub-machineguns and then covered with earth.
