The ChGK report from Golovanevsk
... In the month of September 1941 in Golovanevsk village a mass shooting of Soviet civilians – old people, women, and children - was carried out. Prior to the shooting all the civilians were, in an action that was a provocation, ordered to assemble at the Pioneer club building on the pretext of attending a meeting. Those unwilling to come to the club were forced to do so by the police. At the same time, for three days the German Gestapo kept coming in covered trucks and loading the civilians onto te trucks and taking them to the shooting site. The shooting site had been prepared ahead of time 1-1.5 kilometers northwest of Golovanevsk village.
