Early in April 1942 Germans and local auxiliary policemen assembled the Jews of Yelizovo of all ages and both sexes and took them across the Berezina River. There, 600 meters from the railway bridge, all the Jews were shot at a 15 meter-deep ravine. According to various sources, the total number of victims was about 160.
