Sonia Sara Engelsberg (the mother of the submitters of the material) was born in Czechoslovakia in 1924. Sonia was in Auschwitz camp in Poland, where she underwent torture by Josef Mengele; she survived many times, due to her knowledge of various languages. She was sent on a death march and was rescued by a German family. She wrote her memoirs in Czech in 1946. Sonia Sara died in 1981. Written on the back of the photograph: "After the war This is my part in all of my travail, Yitzhak".
