This is a monodrama written by Shmuel Rafael and acted by Victor Attar. It tells the story of Albert Salvado, a traditional Greek Jew who lost his whole family in the Holocaust. His story exemplifies the stories of Ladino speaking Jews in the Holocaust. Salvado, his wife, and two daughters, were sent to Auschwitz in the Winter of 1943. This documentary presents the August 1997 visit of a group of 13 people to Kupishok, Lithuania. They are searching for their family roots. During the group’s visit to the Kupishok Municipality the manager of the city archives discovers a list of 808 names of Jews from the city who were murdered by the Nazis and local collaborators in June 1941. The list was compiled due to the initiative of a non-Jewish midwife, Stefanija Glemzhaite, for reasons unknown.
