This documentary presents the August 1997 visit of a group of 13 people to Kupishok, Lithuania. They are searching for their family roots. During the group’s visit to the Kupishok Municipality the manager of the city archives discovers a list of 808 names of Jews from the city who were murdered by the Nazis and local collaborators in June 1941. The list was compiled due to the initiative of a non-Jewish midwife, Stefanija Glemzhaite, for reasons unknown. What is known however is that she later established a maternity hospital with money she won in the lottery. The discovery of the list lead to the creation of “Remembrance Wall”, made from bronze. The names of those who perished were inscribed on the wall which was dedicated in July 2004 in the presence of 52 Kupishok Jewish descendants. It is adjacent to one of the municipal library walls, a building which in the past used to be the local synagogue.
