A documentary. Ioannina, Greece had two synagogues before WWII. The Nazi’s desecrated the newer synagogue, Kal Kadosh Hadash, by using it as a stable. It was then razed by the city after the war to accommodate the remnant of returning Jews with living space. Few remember the original. The film is dedicated to its memory. Ioannina second synagogue KAL KADOSH HADASH built in 1840 and occupying this sacred ground, was desegrated by the Nazis and finally replaced with this series of buildings, knows as the Jewish quarter, in 1960.

This private story of Slovakia’s Jewish community revolving around sepia-coloured photographs is dedicated to Ján Mozolák who saved the lives of Jews who were supposed to be executed during the war. Would Yossi Steiner be the rabbi of Košice nowadays if he had not found shelter in the basement owned by the Slovak equivalent of Oscar Schindler? A touching and at the same time bitter story about survival, about an intimate list of Mozolák.
