In February – March 1942 Jewish women, children, and men were murdered near a former fat-boiling site 200 meters from Androkhnovo village. Their bodies were not buried but were found sometime afterwards in the snow around the murder site and then buried. The number of Jewish victims and the exact date of the murder operation are unknown. In September 1943 the Germans dug up the victims' bodies and burned them.

Mikhail Ragozin, who was born in 1899 and lived in Androkhnovo village during the war years, testified:
... Our village was located on the left side of the highway to Leningrad… From that highway there is a country road that passes by a fat-boiling site. The distance from the road to the fat-boiling site is about 100 meters and from the fat- boiling site to our village about 200 meters. In the spring of 1942 we saw shooting being carried out in the forest in the vicinity of our village…. I learned from the residents of our village that early in the morning some Germans had taken some people by truck, shot them, and then buried them. In the afternoon I came to the place where the shooting victims had been buried and saw freshly dug up earth with arms and legs sticking out. There was much blood on the snow around there. Before I arrived [there], my children had found … several, two or three, six-pointed stars, a bit larger than the size of a hand. They were made from carton and were colored yellow. As far as I and other civilians knew, these stars were worn by the Jews. On the basis of this we concluded that those who had been shot were Jewish men, women, and children. This was proved by various pieces of clothing [scattered around]. The pit – grave measured about 4 x 3 meters. I don't know the number of those who were buried there. This pit was located not far from the fat-boiling site, on the left side of the country road.... Around September 1943 the Germans began to dig up the graves of the people shot near our village and the fat-boiling site. They put the bodies in piles on the side of the country road and burned them there. In September 1944 the pits where the Jews had been shot were opened and bodies, as well as ashes from burned bodies, were found there. I do not know their number....
