Jews apparently settled in Sychevka at the end of the 19th century. In 1939 the Jewish population of Sychevka numbered 138 and comprised 1.64 percent of the total population. Sychevka was occupied by German forces on October 10, 1941. The local Jews were murdered in two murder operations - in November 1941 and in January 1942. The town was liberated by the Red Army on March 8, 1943.
