Priyutnaya was established as a Jewish colony in 1848, by Jews from the Vitebsk District. Ten years later, there were 616 Jews living in the settlement. In 1921, Priyutnaya had a Yiddish school with 2 teachers and 70 pupils. In 1924, a Jewish agricultural cooperative named Royte Feld was set up near Priyutnaya, eventually becoming part of the settlement.
The Germans occupied Priyutnaya in October 1941. In February 1942, 20 Jews were shot in the settlement. Later, 8 more Jews were found hiding and shot.
Priyutnaya was liberated by the Red Army in September 1943.
