In February 1942, the headman of the nearby village, with the help of the local police squad, collected all the Jewish population in the central kolkhoz office. The Jews were forced to undress and taken in groups of two to a silage pit, where they were shot by a local policeman. Another 8 Jews who were found hiding were beaten and taken to Novozlatopol, where they were shot dead.

In February…, all the Jews were assembled in the main kolkhoz office. Local policemen… assisted in rounding them up. The men, women, and children – 19 persons in all – were taken to the kolkhoz office. After being forced to undress, they were led, half-naked, to a silage pile, where they were shot by a local policeman.… There, they died at the hands of the barbarians. The remaining Jews, who had tried to hide to save their lives, were found by the policemen and beaten senseless. They were then thrown into carts and taken to the Novozlatopol County, where they were shot. This shooting claimed 8 lives.
