The Jewish agricultural settlement of Bobrovy Kut was founded in 1807. During the Russian Civil War (1918-1920), the Jewish population was targeted by pogroms. Dozens perished from famine and disease, as conditions on the farms deteriorated.
In the 1920s, Bobrovy Kut became part of the Jewish autonomous county of Kalinindorf. The Royter Oktobr kolkhoz was established, employing several dozen Jewish families from Bobrovy Kut. A Yiddish high school operated in Bobrovy Kut until the end of the 1930s. In 1926, 1,365 Jews resided in Bobrovy Kut, accounting for 90 percent of the total population.
Bobrovy Kut was occupied by German forces on August 27, 1941. Its some 900 Jewish inhabitants were shot on September 16, 1941.
Bobrovy Kut was liberated on March 14, 1944.
