The Jews of Bobrovy Kut were shot on September 16, 1941 at Yevgenovka Steppe, some three kilometers north of Bobrovy Kut. Following the mass murder operation, the bodies of the victims were thrown into wells. According to different sources, the estimated number of victims is between 850 and 945 people. Two hundred Jews from Bessarabia were murdered there as well. During the same period, the Jewish residents of the neighboring kolkhozes, "Serp i Molot", named after Kaganovich, and "May 1", were also murdered.
The murder operation was carried out by Sonderkommando 10a.

... We, the undersigned members of the commission ... carried out an investigation regarding the murder of the residents of the village by the German occupiers. We found that some three kilometers from the village of Bobrovy Kut, north of Yevgenovka Steppe, the bodies were thrown into the well. Since the murders were carried out some time ago – September 16, 1941 – it was impossible to excavate the site. From the testimonies of the residents of the village, we discovered that 717 of their friends were shot there and a further 200 people were brought there from Bessarabia, whose names we are thus unable to ascertain ....
