1947 at the German central bank in Frankfurt by Eddy Wahler, a lawyer who emigrated from Neustadt, a small town near Wurzburg, to the United States in 1934. Wahler returned to Germany as part of the American prosecutorial team at the International Military Tribunal. The album was submitted as evidence but not utilized during the Nuremberg Trials, during the postwar prosecution of defendants for the Wurzburg deportations, and in the trial of Adolf Eichmann. The collection of documents, including 119 out of a total of 135 photographs contained in the album, is held in the city archives of Würzburg. When Wahler found the album, it was in poor condition, so that at leaste 20 photos had become separated from it. 18 of those photographs are held by the National Archives and Records Administration in Washington, D.C., while another 2 were donated to the city archives in Wurzburg during the 1970’s.
