These are the Generations - David and Tzipporah Friedman

A documentary about David and Tzipporah Friedman, Hungarian Holocaust survivors who ran a children's boarding school "Neve Michael" in which they were active from 1950 to 1986. According to their outstanding pedagogical method a children's Home is a family home: students, staff, manager and all his family are one model unit. In the film Zipporah tells her memoirs, and there are interviews and memories of family members and friends, as well as employees and graduates of the boarding school. Photos of the family home in Budapest and in the ghetto are incorporated as well as archive footage.

Henry Blumenstein was a child in 1939 when, after fleeing Nazioccupied Austria, his family gained passage with other Jewish refugees on the St. Louis.When the ship was abruptly refused entry by Cuba and sent back to Europe, the family found its way to Amsterdam. Henry’s mother placed him in hiding with the Dijkstras, a poor Catholic Dutch family, shortly before she was captured and sent to Auschwitz. Twist of Fate

A two-part miniseries about an SS-Lieutenant Colonel Helmut Von Schreader who, in the waning days of the Third Reich, undergoes plastic surgery and becomes a concentration-camp prisoner to avoid prosecution as a war criminal. In an ironic twist of fate, he is shipped to the wrong camp and forced to live with those he has victimized, where he learns to respect them. After the war, he becomes involved in the founding of Israel, marries and fathers a son, who eventually stumbles across his identity 20 years later.
