The Muzejs Ebreji Latvijā (Museum of Latvian Jewry) was established in 1989 by Holocaust survivors and by the well-known historian Margers Vestermanis. The museum collection includes documents and photographs from private archives and family albums encompassing 450 years of Jewish history in Latvia. Memoirs and testimonies from the Nazi occupation period, mostly of Holocaust survivors but also memoirs of rescuers of Jews and their companions, have a special place in the museum collection.
