Letter written by Red Army soldier B. A. Spivak regarding the extermination of the Jews in the city of Szeged Red Army soldier B. A. Spivak entered the city of Szeged, Hungary, with the Red Army forces; there he photographed a synagogue which the Germans had made into a warehouse of items confiscated from the Jews; the photographs are attached to his letter. Spivak tells that when they entered Szeged, the Germans established a ghetto in several structures around the synagogue which was turned into a warehouse; according to Spivak, the Jews in the ghetto were later murdered with gas trucks.
