סרט תיעודי קצר. סיפורה של משפחת סיניגליה באמצעות תצלומים, סרטים ארכיוניים, מכתבים יומנים וזכרונות של בני המשפחה. בשנת 1938, הוצאו בני המשפחה מחוץ לחברה האיטלקית עקב חוקי הזע. לאחר ה8.9.1943 ניסו בני המשפחה לברוח לשווייץ ונעזרו בחברים, זרים, עמיתים, פרטיזנים, ובעיקר בקלליה, העוזרת שלהם שחיה איתם משנת 1934 וסיכנה את חייה כדי להצילם.

The film before us demonstrates how the implementation of racial laws affected Italian Jewry, and how the Jewish and non-Jewish population experienced racism and persecution. Through witness accounts and scholarly analysis, along with animated segments, 1938 - Diversi offers a new reading of this dramatic historical period, shedding light upon the role of mass media in one of the most tragic racial persecutions in the history of humankind.
