A film about the Hungrian poet Miklós Radnóti who was shot dead by the SS in 1944. He wrote poems in the camps of the labor service and on the march to Germany. He sent some of his poems to his wife, Fanni, in Budapest, others were discovered in his coat pocket when his corpse was found in a mass grave in 1946. Amongst the footage is a conversation with Radnoti's widow in Budapest.
