The Chronicles of Minsk Ghetto

This documentary is a three part film made in Belarus depicting three separate events occurring simultaneously during the Nazi years in Minsk. The first film focuses on the Minsk Ghetto. The second film is about Soviet (both Jewish and gentile) resistance against the Nazis, which is followed by the last film honored Soviets who saved Jews during the Nazi invasion. The documentaries use archival footage, testimony from survivors and actors to depict a real sense of the current event in Minsk at the time. The first film was released in 2013 and the second two films were released in 2017. Minsk was liberated by Soviet forces in early July 1944 after over three years of a brutal Nazi occupation.
