Murder Story of Kolomyja Jews on Herzen Street in Kolomja

According to the testimony of Josef Wrublewski, a Polish resident of Kolomyja, a massacre of Jews took place on Herzen Street during one of the murder operations in the town, when a group of Jews were being led away to their deaths – either in the Sheparovtsy Forest or at the Bełżec death camp. The Jews who were exhausted and unable to walk on were gunned down by the guards in that street, through which they were passing. Both the date of this massacre and the identity of its perpetrators remain unknown.

From the testimony of Josef Wrublewski (born 1880):
…I witnessed an event in which German soldiers herded [two groups] of civilians: one group of about three thousand people, and another group of about four thousand people. These groups included men, women, small children, and nursing infants with their mothers. As the convoy was passing through Herzen Street, sixteen civilians, who had walked 200 meters and become exhausted, were shot…. And the gunfire did not stop for the duration of their march.…
