According to Soviet sources, in October 1941 the Nazi SS murdered the single Jewish family remaining in the village after the occupation. The murder took place in the village itself, but the exact location is unknown.

In October 1941, at the very moment when the German-Fascist occupiers entered the village, the SS men brutally murdered the family of the teacher Tatyana Borisovna Vernyak, who was of Jewish nationality. [The family] numbered five people, namely: Tatyana Borisovna Vernyak, born 1915; her daughter Ninel Anatolyevna Vernyak, born 1936; her son Vladislav Anatolyevich Vernyak, born 1938; her daughter Tamara Anatolyevna Vernyak, born 1940, and her sister Etya Borisovna Lempert, born 1925.
