On an uncertain date in the spring of 1942, local policemen entered the village of Galka and arrested a Jew who was hiding in the apartment of a local resident. The Jew was taken into custody and escorted to the village of Vedmezhye, where he was killed, probably in a pit.

There was a Jew hiding from the German-Fascists and their policemen in the village of Galka. This citizen of Jewish nationality, Avrom Grigoryevich Volovik (aged 65), was found in the spring of 1942 in the home of Paletka Fedko, a resident of the village of Galka. He [the Jew] was arrested and taken to the village of Vedmezhye, where he was shot dead.
