According to Soviet documents, those Jewish residents of Krasnoarmeyskoye who had failed to evacuate were shot in the vicinity of the town on various dates in January 1942. The number of victims is estimated at 174–180.

Stepan Kamenev, who lived in the area of Krasnoarmeyskoye during the war, testifies:
On January 6, 1942, I was arrested by the police chief…. According to preliminary data, during [my] imprisonment, which lasted for about a month, some 180 Jews – as well as 74 miners, factory workers, and collective farmers – were shot by the German Gendarmerie outside the town of Krasnoarmeysk [sic].
