Murder Story of Zugres Jews at the Zugres Gravel Factory

The murder operation against the Jews of Zugres was carried out in late December 1941. The Jews were abused, and then shot, near the gravel factory. According to Soviet reports, there were women, children, and elderly people among the victims. Apparently, they numbered several dozen.

In late December 1941, near the gravel factory in the town of Zugres, the German-Fascist fiends arrested the [following] Jewish families, subjecting them to inhuman abuse and torture before shooting them: Iosif Vushnevetslkiy, aged 38; his wife Sofia, 32; his mother, 80; his sister Yekaterina, 35; his daughter Svetlana, 12; the family of Sofya Kosyak, 28; her son Boris, 6; her daughter Valentina, 3; her father Krapivskiy, 60; her mother Krapivskaya, 60; the family of Samuil Kogan, 51; his wife, 47; his daughter, 19; and his son, 12; along with a number of other civilians. The executed people remained unburied until April 1942.
