On July 7, 1941, eight people, including several Jews, were arrested as Soviet activists and shot. Four months later, their bodies were found in a pit near the Miadziołka River.

Riva Fridman, who was born in 1904 and lived in Postawy during the war years, testifies:
…My husband, Levin Wulfovich Fridman, was arrested on July 7, 1941, and, on the same day, he was shot as a Soviet activist, together with seven other persons. Their names are: Olga Suvich, Chaim Shapiro, [name unclear] Zelik, R. Fridman.… They were all shot as Soviet activists.… Four months later, my son and I found the bodies of my husband and the others who had been shot outside the town, in a pit by the river….
