Murder Story of Bogodukhov Jews at the Bogodukhov Cemetery

…The witnesses have testified that, one afternoon in July 1942, the policemen Timofei Kakasenko, Poltavskiy, Pavel Kuka, Al. Neskoromnyi, Stepan Papenko, and others led a group of 7 people to the town cemetery. This was done in the presence of… the police chief of the town of Bogodukhov, V.P. Komyshanskii, and the town commandant Baun [sic for Braun]. The cemetery was surrounded by a reinforced guard. The witnesses saw the people take off their clothes and kneel, on the orders of the executioner Kakasenko. The shooting was carried out by the policemen Timofei Kakasenko, Pavel Kuka, and Aleksandr Neskoromnyi. The bodies were buried on the next day by the residents of the town of Bogodukhov….

…In August 1942, at 4 AM, four women with a nursing infant and a group of 27 men were taken to the town’s cemetery. The women and the infant were shot by the policeman Timofei Kakasenko before the arrival of the German commandant. The group of men was shot by Braun, the military commandant of the town. The exhumation has revealed human bones at a depth of 2 meters in a 3x2 [meters-sized] grave, as well as the split frontal bone of a child's skull, female skulls with shreds of hair, torsos, and other body parts. On the basis of the split bones, the Commission has concluded that the shooting was carried out with explosive bullets. Judging by their variable postures, the bodies were thrown into the pit haphazardly….
