In November 1942, German soldiers shot nine people in the area of the Sotsput collective farm, which belonged to the village of Bezopasnoye. Two of those nine civilians appear to have been elderly Jewish evacuees.

In November, the Gestapo tortured and shot nine individuals, innocent residents of the Sotsput collective farm in the village of Bezopasnoye, including [the following] elderly people and children: I. G. Vanberg, 85 years old; C. G. Vanberg, 84 years old; V. Nolev, 5 years old; V. G. Novel, 1 year old. A third of the farmers at that collective farm were flogged for failing to obey the orders of the German authorities.
