On September 27, 1942, German soldiers and local policemen arrested all the Jews they could find in the area, taking them to the Put’ Khleborobov collective farm. 75 Jews were separated from the rest and herded into hermetically sealed gas vans, which set off toward a nearby pit. The Jews suffocated en route, and their bodies were thrown into the pit, which was then covered with a thick layer of soil.
