In late August 1942, the local policemen, acting on orders received from the German headquarters, searched the area for Jews. They intercepted a Jewish family of four, who were on their way to Godritskoye. The policemen arrested them, took them to the Shirokaya Balka ravine in the southwestern section of the village, and shot them. The victims were buried at the shooting site.
