The Germans occupied the village of Letnyaya Stavka in August 1942, and they immediately began to comb the area for Jewish evacuees from the western regions of the USSR. According to some sources, the Germans killed 156 Jewish evacuees in the forests near Letnyaya Stavka. The identities of the victims could not be established.

…In September 1942, 156 civilians – including women, elderly people, and children – were shot in the area of the Turkmenskoye County, which was occupied by the German Fascists. The victims' first and last names could not be established….
