After the beginning of the German occupation, the Jews were ordered to wear an armband with a black and white Star of David. On September 19, 1942, the occupation authorities ordered the local Jewish population to appear to be registered. After the Jews collected at the German headquarters, German soldiers surrounded and arrested them. Approximately 48 Jews were then shot to death at an anti-tank trench.
