Murder Story of Vakhnovka Jews at the Vakhnovka Jewish Cemetery

The second murder operation against the Jews of Vakhnovka was apparently carried out on June 13, 1942, ten days after the first one. The police and the Germans arrested the remaining 50 Jews in Vakhnovka and shot them to death at the local Jewish cemetery. According to some testimonies, the details of the murder were the same as the ones of the previous shooting.

From the testimony of Dmitri Ogorodniychuk, who was born in 1906 and lived in Vakhnovka during the war years:

…. 10 days after that [the shooting of Vakhnovka Jews in the Turbov Forest] the police and Germans arrived in Vakhnovka for the second time, [they] caught about 50 more people, who were shot in the same way, at the Jewish cemetery.
