In November 1942 the German police and soldiers took 29 people, 28 of whom were Jewish, from their homes to a collective farm near the village of Grachevskaya, three kilometers south of Kugulta. These people were shot to death in a pit.

According to the witnesses Artyukhov and Anishchenko, who lived in the village of Kugulta and told us, that in November 1942, during the period of the German occupation, the fascist occupiers who were in Kugulta, the German officers Krechugart, Gabbe, Kalz, and Reders, and members of the 18/400 Police Battalion shot many peaceful Soviet civilians to death. They were taken to a pit at a collective farm in Grachevskaya, which was three kilometer from the village of Kugulta.
