According to some testimonies, the surviving Romanian Jewish forced laborers who had been used for the reconstruction of the local railway line were shot in the forest 1.5 kilometers south of the village of Stariy Bobrik. The exact number of victims and the number of murder operations carried out at this site are unknown. At least one such massacre took place on March 23, 1943.

We are in a small forest 1.5 kilometers south of the village of Stariy Bobrik. There used to be a swamp here, and we can see the shooting site of the Jews.… Here lie the remains of the massacred Jews who came from Europe - apparently, from Romania. The Germans brought them to the Novaya Borovaya railway station, and they worked in railroad construction. They lived in barracks.… Residents of Stariy Bobrik recall that these were Romanian Jews, many of whom were musicians and artists. Despite being promised that they would be allowed to return home after finishing their work, they were all shot. None of them returned. There used to be a swamp here, but the Germans covered it with burnt lime and sand. In all likelihood, this happened in early 1943.
