On August 15, 1942 the Germans arrested 23 people of Jewish origin and took them to a pit in the yard of a civilian resident of Izobilnoye. The victims had to stand in line and they were shot to death in such a way that their bodies felt into the pit. Two hours later nine Jewish people were shot to death in the same way at the same place.

...On August 15, 1942 a train that arrived at 12 o’clock at the village Izobilnoye [sic] was met by German officers at the main station. 23 Soviet civilians were taken under guard by the German military to the private yard of the civilian Petr Aleksandrovich Kuzma. They were taken to a bomb shelter. They [the civilians] were forced into this sort of ravine and shot to death from the top of it. Two hours later another 9 people were taken and shot to death in the same way....
