In August 1941 members of Sonderkommando 4a took the Jews of Kodnya on three trucks to the narrow-gauge railway station close to Kodnya. Some of the Jews were forced to dig two pits and afterwards were shot - the men in one pit and women and children - in the other. The Germans murdered a total of 186 Jews from Kodnya.
