Between November and December 1942, approximately 600 to 1,000 Ashkenazi Jews of Nalchik were killed in an anti-tank trench 3 kilometers from the city, near the local military airfield.
According to witnesses of the liberation of Nalchik, several bodies of the victims had signs of torture and mutilation.
