During one of its raids a German murder squad shot to death Solomon Nepomnyashschiy from Vorobeynya village; he had been fleeing from the Germans together with other village residents. Later the Germans discovered his Jewish origin and began searching the village for other Jews. The rest of the family had been hiding in the houses of local non-Jews, but they were betrayed to the Germans by some collaborator. The mother and the children were arrested and sentenced to be shot. The Nepomnyashchiys were taken through the village towards the shooting site at Buchki meadow where, on the night between August 24 and 25, 1941, they were shot to death and buried together in one pit.
