The German report from Polonka
Report of the head of the Gendarmerie of Baranowicze to the head of the Gendarmeries of White Ruthenia (Belarus) Eibner I was basically assigned by the regional commissar in Baranovichi [Baranowicze], as far as the forces at my disposal would allow this, to liberate the region, especially the countryside, from the Jews. The large scale [anti-Jewish murder] operations carried out during the last months resulted in the escape of a large part of the Jews and in their joining partisan groups. To prevent further escapes I liquidated those Jews who were still present in the localities of Polonka and Mir. A total of 719 Jews were shot.
