Sofiya Soinskaya (neé Peyko), who was born in 1921 in Demidov, testified:
The Germans selected five teenagers 15-16 years old, of the same height, of Jewish origin. They [the Germans] forced them into a trench and buried them alive in an upright position. Then they [the Germans] drove a tank over them and leveled the spot. My brother Dodik Peyko, a 9th grade pupil, was among them.
